Silver Springers still alive in NSCBL Tourney

The Silver Springers are still alive in the NSCBL State Tournament. Last weekend the Silvers went 2 - 1 in playoff action.

Friday they defeated the Min-netonka Saints 2 - 1 at the Cold Spring Ballpark. Dave Hinke-meyer threw a complete game 4 hitter earning the win. Mike Trewick went 1-1, with 2 stolen bases, and scored a run. Ron Ter-res had a double, a stolen base, and scored the other run. Todd Steil went 2 - 2.

Saturday the Silvers traveled to Burnsville to take on the Min-netonka Lakers. The Lakers handed the Silvers their first tournament loss, 5 - 4. Rod Schafer went 1 - 2, with 2 RBI, and two stolen bases. Dave Jun-gels went 2 - 3. Mike Trewick was 1 - 3, with a run scored, an RBI, and 2 stolen bases, and Jason Spohn was 1 - 2 with a run scored and a stolen base.Sunday:

The Silvers again faced off against the Saints, coming away with a 1 - 0 win. Russ Huls threw a complete game, allowing only 2 hits. The lone run came in the 2nd inning when Dave Jungels drew a walk, John Theis ran for Jungels, stole 2nd, went to 3rd on an overthrow, and was driven in by a Mike Trewick single.
