Thelma Eide

Thelma Eide, 89, of Lady Lake, Fla. died Saturday, March 27, 2010 at The Villages Hospital, The Villages, Fla. Funeral services are at Stavanger Lutheran church Monday, April 5, 2010 at 11 a.m. with burial at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday at Schmitz Funeral Home in Ossian and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

She was born in rural Ossian to John and Bertha (Evenson) Johnson May 18, 1920. She was educated in a rural school near her home. She married Loren Eide Jan. 21, 1948 at the First Lutheran Parsonage in West Union.

They were members of Stavanger Lutheran church at rural Ossian. They farmed together their entire married life.

She moved to Lady Lake in 2003 from Ossian. She was of the Lutheran Faith and attended Hope Lutheran Church in Lady Lake, Fla.

She enjoyed living in assisted living and playing bingo and other activities. She also loved spending quality time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Lois (Stanford) Patterson, Lady Lake, Fla.; Geri (Robert) Bruns, St. Charles, Mo.; two sons Dennis (Sheree) Eide, Waverly and Darrell (Barb) Eide, Ossian; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mabel (Edwin) Molok-ken, West Union,

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Loren in 1987; two brothers, Mike Johnson and Ervin Johnson and one sister, Bessie Johnson; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Johnson and Lindy Johnson and one brother-in-law, Glen Gullickson.
