CopyBetty Lou Moellers, 82, died Aug. 29, 2009, at the Gunderson Lutheran Hospital, in La Crosse, Wis. She was born April 13, 1927 in Wauco-ma, the daughter of Glen and Mary D. (Dickens) Myers. Funeral Betty Lou Moellers Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at the Notre Dame Parish with burial in Calvary Cemetery both in Cresco. Visitation is Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Conway Funeral Home in Cresco, and an hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church. There is a parish vigil service at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
On Sept. 12, 1945 she married Rufus J. Moellers from Ossian. They farmed near Ridgeway from 1945 until 1988. She was a dedicated farm wife and a great mother. She started making and decorating angel food cakes in 1971 and was very popular with her wedding cakes. She made cakes up to the time of her death.
When she retired and moved to Cresco, she worked part time at Bernadette's Clothing Store. She loved it very much.
She is survived by her children: Wanda (Jerry) Reicks, of Cresco; Zelda Lee (Steve) Price of Grand Rapids, Mich,; Rochel (Rick) Buck of Cresco; Cindy Lou (Duane) Omar of Cresco and Kurt (Maureen) Moellers of Ridgeway; 14 grandchildren: Jamie Reicks and Mandy Olsen; Kristy Jones and Georgia Price; Crystal Stevenson and Kelsey Buck; David Omar, Jeremy Omar, Jessica Pullman and Kay la Carroll; Justin Moellers, Derek Moellers, Travis Moellers and Trina Moellers; 16 great grandchildren: Trae Riniker, Bailey Brunsvold, Aiden Reicks, Atley Olson, Austin Jones, Haley, Olivia and Blake Stevenson, Tristen Pullman, Madison Bakken, Bobby Carroll, Shawn, Kyler, Brandon, Logan and Sadie Omar.
Betty Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus, on March 14, 2009; a daughter, Sharon Mary; her parents, Glen and Mary Myers and one brother, Gene Myers.
