A new addition to the local arts and culture scene has opened up recently and is hoping to win the Dream Big, Grow Here (www.dreambiggrow-here.com) contest sponsored by UNI.

The Clay Studio, a glaze your own ceramics' and community pottery studio was started by Rachelle Reis Bra-num, who grew up in the area and has recently returned. "After years away, living in places from San Antonio to Omaha to Minneapolis, it was time to move my heart back home," Branum says.

You can show your support for a hometown artist and for arts and culture in the area by voting daily from Sept. 15-30 at www.dream-biggrowhere.com.

The contest gives $1000 to the Iowa business who can gather the most online votes to support their business dream. You can vote once per day per computer network, so the contest encourages you to vote from home, work and/ or your blackberry, while spreading the word to get your friends and neighbors to vote as well.
