CopyDarrie Douglas Cosson, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010. He was born on Nov. 1, 1931 and was a life-long resident of DeFuniak Springs, Fla. Cosson was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
Ho is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Cosson; parents, Harvis and Edna Cosson; one brother, Benjamin Cosson; one sister, Tiny Curry; and one grandson, Billy Miller.
Cosson is survived by eight daughters, Linda Martin of Caryville, Fla., Lillie Miller of Shalimar, Fla., Mary Champion of De-Funiak Springs, Mavelene (Gralyn) Adkinson of Pace, Fla., Margene Cosson of DeFuniak Springs, Glenda Rushing (Travis) of Ponce de Leon, Christine Pierce of Panama City, Fla., and Lisa Eatmon of Oregon; three sons, Calvin Cos-son (Meashell) of Elberton, Ga. and Steven and Tracy Cosson both of DeFuniak Springs; one sister, Laura Curry of DeFuniak Springs; two brothers, Harvis Junior Cosson and H.D. Cosson both of DeFuniak Springs; 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 27, 2010 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church beginning at 2 p.m. with Pastor Owen Smith officiating. A time of visitation was held one hour prior to the service.Committal services followed in the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
