Walton opened the 1993 season under Joe Dowling with a 48-21 thrashing of Jay on the road as the Braves ran for 519 yards on the ground.

Senior Del Barge accounted for 227 yards and touch-down runs of 47, 78 and 51 yards as the Braves scored 41 unanswered points in the second half to rally from a 21-7 halftime deficit.

Shelby Truett contributed 134 rushing yards of his own to go with a 63-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Walton forced eight punts from the Royals on the night and held Jay to three first downs in the final 24 minutes of play.
