CopyRichard Cochran, 52, of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., passed away Aug. 29, 2009. He was born April 27, 1957 in Cartersville, Ga. to Robert Guy Cochran and Betty Dobson Gravitt.
Cochran had been a resident of Santa Rosa Beach for the past nine years moving here from Marietta, Ga. He worked construction for 30 years. Richard loved fishing and enjoyed his family and grandkids. He was a friend to all, affectionately known as "OMR" which means "old man rivers."
Cochran was preceded in death by his father, Robert Cochran, and his loving ex-wife, Sharon Lynn Kellen.
Cochran is survived by his mother, Betty Gravitt and husband, Jerry, of Cartersville, Ga.; son, Russell Cochran of Jesup, Ga.; daughter, Ryan Ledbetter and husband, Jason, of Baxley, Ga.; step-mother, Thelma Cochran, of Canton, Ga. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Knox, and Nolan.
Memorialization will be by direct cremation, with Clary-Glenn Freeport Chapel Funeral Home entrusted with the arrangements.
