WC Tax Collector office to reschedule Inlet Beach R.A.T.E. due to Hurricane Ida

Due to the anticipated landfall of Hurricane Ida and the associated weather conditions, the Walton County Tax Collector's Office has cancelled the R.A.T.E. collection at Inlet Beach tomorrow. The collection will be rescheduled for later in the month.

During November, the Walton County Tax Collector's Office takes the tax office to property owners by providing onsite tax payment collection at various community sites.

This onsite tax collection is known as the R.A.T.E. program or Remote, Area, Tax, Express. The purpose of the program is to make paying taxes more convenient for residents living in an area of the county where a central tax office is not located.

A representative from the Tax Collector's office will be onsite to receive tax payments and answer questions related to taxes. Walton County property owners are asked to bring their tax bill with them to the onsite location.

The R.A.T.E. locations are as follows:

Nov. 12 at the Freeport Community Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Nov. 13, at the Paxton Town Hall from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Nov.16, at Mossy Head Fire Station from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Nov. 17, at Darlington, FL., Two Cousins Restaurant from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Nov. 18, at the Choctaw Beach Fire Station from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Nov. 19, at the Miramar BeachFire Station (Geronimo Street) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Nov. 24, at the Red Bay Community Center 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tax payments not paid by March 31 are considered delinquent and a penalty will be assessed on delinquent accounts.
