Memorial services for Fla-vio "Floyd" Munoz were held on Friday, Sept. 4, 2009 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard with Rev. Don Ruppert officiating. Burial followed in San Francisco cemetery in East Bernard.

Mr. Munoz passed away at his home on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009 at the age of 75.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife of 46 years, Julia Chavez Munoz. His family takes comfort in knowing that he and Julia are together once again and probably playing dominoes.

Mr. Munoz is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel and Urbano Muniz of Houston and Rose Marie "Rosie" and Mark Meyers of Pasadena; son and daughter-in-law, Fred Sr. and Nancy Munoz of East Bernard; grandchildren Jeremy, Randy and Joey Muniz; Christina and Alejandro "Little Al" Cantu; Fred Jr. "Pelon" and wife Veronica, Anthony and Dora, Felicia, Shane Ross and Mal-Mal Munoz; and four great-grandchildren D.J., Michael, Isaac and Abraham Munoz; brothers, Juan, Domingo and Val Munoz and sister Isabelle Hernandez, all of Wharton County.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Donna Cavness and Evelyn Vacek of Holy Cross Catholic Church for all their support and to Pete Lopez for leading the rosary.
