Bradbury receives scholarship from Bates Foundation

Nicholas Bradbury of Graham recently received a $500 scholarship from the Bates Foundation. Bradbury is one of two students in the Machinist program at Bates Technical College who won $500 from the Gene Haas scholarship this quarter.

This fall, 26 Bates Technical College students will receive scholarships totaling $13,670 from the Bates Foundation. The foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, peovides financial support to students and college programs. Its funding comes from fundraising efforts and equipment donations. All students are eligible to apply for the foundation's general scholarships, and others who fit certain criteria can apply for a variety of program-specific scholarships.

Recipients in various career education programs may use the scholarships, which range from $150-$ 1,000 per student, to help pay for tuition, books and supplies.
