CenterPoint Church plans to begin holding programs at Eatonville Community Center.

A proposed lease between the church and the town was presented at a Town Council meeting Monday night. If approved by the council, the one-year agreement is for CenterPoint to lease the center on Wednesday evenings for a fee of $250 a month.

Jonathan Cross, who has worked in the ministry for 20 years, is the founding pastor of CenterPoint and a seminary graduate. His wife, Jennie, an Eatonville native, is also a seminary graduate.

Jim Pyette, a Pierce County native, is CrossPoint's ministry pastor.

The church has conducted worship services in the Eatonville High School auditorium. The services, which are at 10 a.m. on Sundays, are described by the church as modern and upbeat.

The church has an office at 604 Williams Ct. W. in Eatonville. Its phone number is (360) 832-4253.

CenterPoint's website states the church believes "everyone has a great purpose in life, designed by God. Our desire is to help others find that purpose in a relationship that honors God."
