Darlene Mae Johnson

Darlene Mae Johnson, Sioux Falls, S.D., died Monday, April 19, 2010 at the age of 78 years, 21 days.

The memorial service was held Friday, April 23 at 1:00 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home, Sioux Falls.

Jeff Gould officiated with Marv Gardner as organist and Deborah Sauder, vocalist.

Darlene Mae North, daughter of Harold and Bessie (Tomes) North, was born March 28, 1932 in Beadle County, S.D. She grew up and received her education in Sioux Falls.

She married Richard Stricherz in 1948 in Pipestone, Minn., and later married Duane Johnson.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children: Daniel and Mathew Stricherz and Virginia Rahn, all of Freeman, S.D., Dawn Noll, Harris-burg, S.D., and Tammy Ward, Sioux Falls; sisters: Marjorie Buttemeier, Leila Stanley, Wanda Watson, Joyce Stack, Marie Dodds, Marlys Hein, Sharon Oestreich, Margaret Moore, and Judy Weber; brothers: Butch Voss, George North and Paul Voss; 22 grandchildren; and 23 greatgrandchildren.

Her parents; sons Michael and Paul; daughters: Vicki and Jackie; and brothers: Albert, Henry, Art and Stephen, all preceded her in death.
