Goldendale Police made an important bust of the drug trade when they executed a search warrant on a residence in the 100 block of N.W. 2nd Ave. on June 1. The officers found an abundance of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia and arrested three individuals including William Williamson and Patti Atkins for possession with the intent to deliver. Williamson is believed to be a major dealer bringing drugs from the Portland area for distribution in Goldendale. In addition to Williamson and Atkins, Toby Petersen was also arrested at the residence and charged with possession of marijuana. Because the residence is located within 1,000 feet of a preschool and bus stop, the 18 month sentence enhancement applies, if convicted.

An early Sunday morning brawl was sure to catch the attention of neighbors when Goldendale police, Sheriff's deputies and an ambulance responded to a residence on South Schuster. When police Lt. Reggie Bartkowski arrived around 2 a.m., two individuals were throwing haymakers and a large group of people were in the area. Arrested on charges of 4th degree assault was Leonard Polk. Polk is believed to have arrived at the residence to confront the other combatant over a family issue. Polk was the only individual arrested and injuries to both men proved to be minor.

In another family dispute, police are looking for Quenton Wallace who was accused of two counts of 4th degree assault and domestic violence. The incidents occurred on June 3.
