Constable Mickey Henson requests that any citizen living in Precinct 1 with information about anyone seen or known to have dumped trash, furniture, dead animals, or chemicals into any creek bed or river bed, full or dry, in Precinct 1, please contact him immediately. He may be reached at the Constable's office at 962-6032 or on his cell phone, 903-385-2155.

Last week, trash was found in a dry creek bed crossing under CR 1117, about a mile off of CR 1818. Everything from furniture and trash to the carcass of a dead animal was thrown into the creek. Although the creek was dry at the time, it does feed into Caney Creek when it's full, and dumping trash into any waterway is illegal and offenders will be subjected to jail time. County workers have spent numerous hours cleaning up similar areas lately. CR 1804 is also another area where lots of trash has been dumped recently, as well as creek beds leading into the City Lake.

Offenders, when caught, will be prosecuted and spend time in jail. There is no need for this carelessness. There is a city dump-site at the County Barn on 110 just on the south end of Grand Saline. The charge for dumping trash is minimal, depending on the quantity of trash being dumped.
