Murder Suspect Flees in stolen van

On August 10, 2009, the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the address of 2375 VZCR 2142 in reference to a deceased person. Deputies arrived on scene and entered the residence and located a white male subject later identified as Paul Marshall (white male 04-16-1937) lying face down in the living room floor in a pool of partially dried blood. A crime scene was established and secured until investigators could arrive. The Smith County Crime Scene Unit arrived on scene and collected the evidence. A suspect was identified as Michael Maurice Dupree (white male 09-21-1951). Dupree fled the scene in Marshall's 2003 Dodge Ram van. The van is maroon in color with silver stripes, and last known to bear Texas License Plates X02-NVF. Dupree should be considered armed and dangerous.
