Stan Fugit was born on October 19, 1927 in Union, Oregon. He passed away on September 8, 2010 in Baker City, Oregon. A memorial service was held Monday, September 13, 2010 at the Pine Valley Presbyterian Church. Interment followed at Pine Haven Cemetery.

Stan fell in love with Halfway while making deliveries with his Dad, Merle Fugit, when he was five years old. He loved Pine Valley and the good people who lived there. Stan loved practical jokes and was a prankster at heart.

Traveling, boating, fishing and hunting were always adventures with Dad. Stan worked for AT & T for 30-plus years in California and, later, for the Forest Service at Pine Ranger Station in Halfway. He served on the Pine Eagle School Board and the Session at Pine Valley Presbyterian Church. Stan loved to travel in his RV, and he enjoyed driving the back roads of Pine Valley.

Stan is survived by his sons, Fred and David; grandchildren, Kevin, Myles and Alexander; sisters, Vicky and Jerri Lynn; nephews, Mike and his wife, Teri, and Dennis and his wife, Becca; sister-in-law, Virginia, and numerous extended family.

Those who wish to make a memorial donation in memory of Stan may do so to the Pine Valley Presbyterian Church through Tami's Pine Valley Funeral Home P.O. Box 543 Halfway, OR 97834.
