A 20-year-old was arrested after he sold items to a Kyle pawn shop which had been stolen from two garages, police say.

Thomas Davila, of Kyle, was booked last week after he was linked to the stolen property that was sold to Cash Box Pawn on Burleson Street for $20 on April 16.

Police say Davila pawned a tool box and a lawn chair, and tried to sell an extension cord and numerous bungee cord tie downs to a pawnshop worker.

The same day, the homeowners reported to police that items were stolen from their garages the day before. When questioned by police, Davila said that he got the items from a friend, but would not identify the friend to corroborate his story.

Davila remains in custody at Hays County Jail on bonds worth $13, 000 for both charges, plus a misdemeanor theft charge out of Austin, court records say.
