White Stone Spa joins league of independent local salons

The way Barrett Rob-bins tells it, his mother Donna Kaiser decided to open a salon and day spa to shave time off her own busy commute.

"My mother is a working woman and a professional," Robbins said. "She likes to get her hair and nails done, and she was tired of going into Austin."

Kaiser, a senior pharmaceutical sales representative who lives in Ruby Ranch, opened the doors of White Stone Day Spa on Aug. 31. Located at the Buda Sports Center on RM 967 next to the YMCA, the business offers hair and nail care, massages, make-up application, infrared sauna, and beauty treatments such as facials, peels, teeth whitening, and waxing, with discounts available on spa packages.

Kaiser owns the new salon, while Robbins is managing the business and the staff of 11 massage therapists, aestheticians and hair and nail stylists.

White Stone is open extended hours in the evening to cater to busy professionals commuting home from Austin or San Antonio.

"Our motto is 'Looking feeling your best isn't a luxury, it's a necessity,'" Robbins said.

White Stone joins several other full-service independent salons that have opened in Buda and Kyle in recent years as the population has grown. Synergy Salon and Spa in downtown Kyle offers hair and salon services, as does Sapphire along in the Cimarron Park neighborhood in Buda and Veronica's Shear Impressions Salon and Boutique on San Antonio Street in Buda.
