Early voting is wrapping up in what may be the most low-key and frequently ignored of all state ballot issues - a series of amendments to the Texas Constitution.

County-wide, 869 voters have turned out to the polls, largely drawn out by a city council race in San Marcos also on the ballot there.

But without a municipal race in other Hays County towns, just 48 residents cast a ballot at Buda City Hall in two days of early voting. In Kyle, after three days of open polls, 82 ballots were cast.

Just a few days of early voting remain before the Nov. 3 election date. Buda City Hall will be open to voters from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. this Friday. Several other polling locations in San Marcos and Wimberley also will be open between Wednesday and Friday.

Any Hays County voter can cast a ballot at any polling place in the county during early voting. However, on Nov. 3, they must vote at their designated election day polling place, which will be open from 7 a.m.-7p.m.

Because of anticipated low turnout, most precinct polling places have been combined, with local voting occurring at just Buda and Kyle city halls.
