The downtown Hogansville area has been decorated with colorful banners, thanks to a number of people and two businesses.

Patrick and Jackie Terrail, along with Gail Cline, were touring southern France and visited a small town that had banners on the light poles. Returning home, they brought the idea back to Hogansville.

The idea received a positive response from the Hogansville Downtown. Development Authority, but there was no money immediately available to purchase banners.. Answering the call Bo-Tex Sales, a manufacturer of vinyl coated mesh, donated material for the banners.

Bo-Tex has been operating in Hogansville for over 20 years. Reese "Buck" Bowen started the business which is now managed by his son, Stanley Bowen. .

With the material in hand, Bralin Manufacturing cut and sewed the material.

Bralin Manufacturing relocated to Hogansville about two years ago and manufactures truck tarps, mats for recreational vehicles, awnings, pool covers and erosion control bags.

Bralin Manufacturing is owned by Donna and Stanley Bowen and managed by their children, Justin and Jessica Bowen.

A TOTAL of 38 banners were manufactured.

Ralph and Patti Lynch, Alan Boyer, Elaine Carr, Donna Arnold, and Kimmie Fegreus cut the "v" in the bottom of each banner and last week hung the banners on the light poles in the downtown area.

At present, plans are for the banners to remain displayed in the downtown area. They will be removed for special banners that commemorate special events such as the Hummingbird Festival and Christmas.
