William Hunt, 27, of Woodbury is facing bank robbery charges after being arrested by the Meriwether County Sheriff's Office on Friday, Oct. 2.

According to Sheriff Steve Whitlock, deputies from the Meriwether and Pike County Sheriff's Offices and agents with the Federal

Bureau of Investigation, executed a search warrant at a residence on Walker Street after an investigation that tied Hunt to bank robberies in Luthersville, Molena, Concord and Griffin.

At press time, Hunt was a suspect in the robbery of the Community Bank and Trust in Hogansville.

"THIS WAS a joint effort between several law enforcement agencies to capture this suspect," Whitlock said. "We are glad to finally have the person responsible for these robberies in custody."

The robberies started in late spring and a bank in Griffin was the latest victim, with the robbery occurring Friday morning prior to Hunt's arrest.
