Independents online edition available only to paid subscribers

CopyBeginning immediately, only paid subscribers to the Horry Independent will have total access to the newspaper's online content.
Visitors to the website who do not subscribe will need to pay a small weekly fee to access the Independent's extensive online newspaper, according to Stephen Robertson Jr., the newspaper's webmaster.
For as little as $1.50, visitors can pay to have total access to website content, he said. They also have the option of buying access by the month, quarter or half year for pennies per day.
The entire edition of the Horry Independentcan be viewed online but it is important that subscribers remember to create an online account.
"We would like to encourage everyone who subscribes to the Independent and receives it in the mail to sign up now for internet access," said Robertson. "Just go to www.horryindependent.com and click on the 'subscribe button.' Enter your promotion code, HI2010, and click on 'go.'
"On the next page you will'be asked to enter your information and a unique user name and password. Make sure the mailing address you enter is the same as the one on your newspaper's mailing label."
Robertson said access to the website will be the same time period as the customer's print subscription.
