CopyGail Guthmiller, age 56, of Men-no, S.D., passed away unexpectedly Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, at her home due to injuries sustained from a gas explosion. The funeral service was at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 28, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Menno with Rev. David Ellis officiating. Burial was in the Menno Cemetery. Visitation began at 4 p.m., Friday, Aug. 27, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Menno with the family present
and a 7 p.m. prayer service. Aisen-brey-Opsahl-Kostel Memorial
Chapel of Menno was in charge of arrangements.
Gail Lin Guthmiller was born Sept. 1, 1953, to Mervin and Betty (Feragen) Guthmiller in Estelline, S.D. She was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church and graduated from Menno High School in 1971. She attended South Dakota State University and Worthington Community College in Worthington, Minn. While in Worthington she managed the JoAnn Fabric Store and later managed stores in Michigan, Willmar, Minn., and Portland, Ore. Gail also worked 10 years for Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Portland. Gail returned to Men-no in 2007. She was employed by the United States Postal Service and Heritag^Pharmacy? "»*»»**
Surviving Gail are her parents, Mervin and Betty Guthmiller of Menno; siblings: Robert (Ana) Guthmiller of Torrance, Calif., Mary (Bruce) Handel of Menno, Ann (Jerry) Clough of Yankton, S.D., and Mark (Pam) Guthmiller of Oregon, Wis.; and her special friend Daryl Miller of Menno. Gail is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
