Kiamichi Technology Centers received the Gold Star Award at the 43rd Annual Oklahoma Career and Technology Education Summer Conference held this year at the Tulsa Convention Center.

This award is designed to recognized technology center districts that have met rigid and demanding criteria demonstrating a high level of excellence. This award provides recognition to districts with exemplary programs designed to meet a broad spectrum of community needs.

In 1967 Kiamichi Technology Center was established as the first multi-campus technology school district in Oklahoma and currently remains the largest. Last year, Kiamichi Technology Centers served students in campuses located at Antlers, Atoka, Durant, Hugo, Idabel, McAlester, Poteau, Spiro, Stigler, and Talihina.
