Two Porterville residents were arrested in Alturas and believed to be responsible for an Adin burglary where a "truck-load" of stolen property was recovered.

Lassen County Sheriff Steven Warren reported that on April 20, Lassen north county deputies responded to Adin after hearing of a suspicious vehicle parked at a vacant residence that is currently for sale.

When the deputies arrived, they realized there had been a recent

burglary of the home and checked the residence and surrounding area for suspects. Finding none, they gathered evidence and leads as to the identity of possible suspects.

The owners of the property, who live out of the area, were telephoned and made arrangements to return to Lassen County.

The following day, deputies learned the suspects were in Alturas where they arrested David Wilson, 36, and Malaina Carrasco, 48, after finding them with, what was described as a truckload of stolen property in their possession.

Both Wilson and Carrasco were booked into Modoc County jail where they were each held on $10,000 bail.

Warren extended credit to the Alturas Police Dept. Chief Ken Barnes and the Modoc County sheriff's office for their assistance. Both, he said, were an asset in the successful result of this case.
