ISLAND PARK - The Timber's Edge Restaurant at the Village Crossroads here will open soon with a promise to serve great food at low prices, says owner, Ron Larsen.

"The idea is to have damn good food, not fancy food -- meals families and groups can afford, and to serve it in a relaxed atmosphere," Larsen said. Pool, shuffleboard, and Wii games, and televisions will be available for people to enjoy, and breakfast will be served all day in addition to regular lunch and dinner fare.

Larsen said he hopes the business will open next week, and the community will be invited to sample the menu at big discounts during a "customer appreciation" promotion.

Also the general manager of Lakeside Lodge, Larsen said Lakeside will close from November until Christmas time for some remodeling and will encourage its customers to eat at Timber's Edge. Meanwhile, Lakeside Lodge is running a lodging special -- 25 percent off all lodging, all September.

Larsen said he is working on getting businesses to lease an area in Timber's that used to be a conference room, and on attracting a bank to the section of the building that used to house the Bank of Idaho.

The Timber's Edge Building is on Lodgepole Drive down the road from Outback Realty and Sawtelle Mountain Resort, west of Hwy. 20 just south of Henry's Lake Flat.
