School board member named to LSBA board

CopyBilly Wayne Fowler, District 5 representative and president of the LaSalle Parish School Board, has been selected as the North Louisiana appointee to serve on the Louisiana School Board Association's Board of Directors.
Fowler is one of three selectees picked statewide to serve on the Board of Directors.
With more than 45 years of experience in the field of education, Fowler was elected in the fall of 2006 as the District Six member of the local school board.
In January of this year, Fowler was elected by fellow board members to serve as president during calendar year 2010.
As an educator, Fowler served in numerous positions including principal, athletic director, and coach for football, basketball and baseball.
He has been married to the former Ella Culp for 44 years and they have two daughters, Tracy and Stacy.
