H. C. Meyers

H. C. Meyers, 84, of Jena, passed from this life on Sunday, September 5, 2010, at the Riverside Hospital in Alexandria.

He was born November 12, 1925 to Horace and Leo Phillips Meyers in Harrisonburg.

H. C. worked as a tool pusher in the oilfield.

Services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 8, at the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Rev. Eddie Thompson and Bro. Terry Head officiating.

Interment followed in the Belah Cemetery in the Belah-Fellowship Community, under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary Ann Meyers; his parents; a brother, Burdette Meyers; and a sister, Lynn Ryan.

Survivors include his son, Tommy Meyers and wife Mary of Jena; one brother, Huey Meyers; four grandchildren, Thomas Meyers of Jena, Michael Enterkin of Florien; Donnie Keene and Jennifer Cook, both of Crosby, TX; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nephews.

Pallbearers were P. J. Westbrooks, Wayne Chapman, Kent Guinn, Terry Lynn Head, Chad Jones, and Terry LeMay.
