Teen Killed In Accident Near ML

BARBER COUNTY SHERIFF'S REPORT

A 16-year-old Medicine Lodge girl was killed Sept. 7 when a vehicle she was riding in ran off Pixley Road about 3 !/2 miles north of US-160 near Medicine Lodge and overturned. Trista Herd died in the accident while the driver of the 1999 Dodge pickup, Joshua Small, 22, and passengers Chelsea Small, 19, and Jacob Harmon, 17, were all injured.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that Small reportedly overcor-rected his pickup and swerved off the east side of the road, striking an embankment before coming back onto Pixley Road and rolling two times.

The accident was investigated by KHP Troopers Gray and Crump assisted by Sheriff Tomson and deputies Rugg and English.

Sept. 6 - Enrique Miranda, Medicine Lodge, driving a 2006 Chevy pickup struck a deer on US-2 81 at Crown Point Road. There were no injuries and over $1, 000 damage.

Accident was investigated by Deputy Rugg.

Sept. 6- Kiowa ambulance transported a patient from the Kiowa City Park to Kiowa District Hospital.

Sept. 6 - Kiowa ambulance transported a patient from Kiowa Manor to Kiowa District Hospital.

Sept. 8- Kiowa ambulance transferred a patient from Kiowa District Hospital to Pratt.

Sept. 9 - Kiowa ambulance transported a patient from Campbell Street to Kiowa District Hospital.

Sept. 11 - Kiowa ambulance transferred a patient from Kiowa District Hospital to Wichita.

Sept. 11 - Cody Shellhammer, Anthony, driving a 2005 Chevy pickup overturned into a ditch on the Hardtner Shortcut about 214 miles west of US-281. There were no in* juries and over $1, 000 damage. Accident was worked by Deputy Hall.
