Harvey L. Mathews

SHARON-Harvey L. Mathews passed away on Monday, September 6, 2010 at Kiowa Hospital District Manor.

Funeral service was Friday, September 10, 2010, 10:00 a.m. at Kiowa Congregational United Church of Christ in Kiowa. Burial followed in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Hazelton. Arrangements were by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa, Kansas.

Harvey was born on July 25, 1921 at Knowles, Oklahoma to Clayborn Delbert Mathews and Laura Mae Pemberton Mathews. He and Wilda McReynolds Mathews made their home in the Sharon area and lived there all their married life. He was a member of the Hazelton Methodist Church, Cosmos Lodge #278, Midian Shrine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; one daughter, Kristi Gass; one son, Stephen Mathews; four brothers, Olen, Leslie, Ed and Robert (Bob); three sisters, Elsie Kloss, Ina Donaldson, Etna

Dunnigan.

He is survived by three children; Harva Leigh and husband, William D. Lambert III, Mark Mathews, Scott Mathews and wife, Becky; son-in-law, Larry Gass; nine grandchildren, Lindsi Hull, Steven Gass and wife, Amber, Chris Gass, Ashley, Mathews, Meghan^ and husband, Lance Koman, Jenna Mathews, Calli Mathews, Bill Lambert, Don Lambert; two great grandchildren, Jentry and Clifton Gass; one brother, Arlie Mathews; one sister, Vera Manninger.

Memorials may be made

to Barber County Rural Fire Department and sent to the funeral home.
