Thomas "Tom" Coulter was born December 24, 1934 to Sexton Terrell and Opal Faye Coulter in Kilgore, Texas.
He spent his childhood days in Eunice, New Mexico, where he met and married his first wife, Maurine Warren on June 15, 1956. To this union two children were born: Debbie and Terry.
They moved to Hazelton, Kansas in 1966 where he worked in the oil field as a pumper until his retirement. He loved to go coon hunting, playing golf, watching football on TV and having coffee with his friends.
Following the passing of Maurine, Tom married Bonnie Schulte on October 4, 1992 in Anthony where they lived up until his passing.
Tom is survived by his wife Bonnie of Anthony; son, Terry (Mary Ann) of Wellington, Ks; stepson, Rex Adkisson of Wichita, KS; stepdaughter, Connie Gore (Tom) of Lawrence, KS; sister, Sally Morris of Eunice, New Mexico; son-in-law, Ron Esslinger of Wichita, KS; sister-in-law, Patty Coulter of Alamogorda, New
Mexico; grandchildren: Vanessa Morsse (Hicham) of Torrance, California, "Chad Esslinger (Kelly) of Kansas City, Missouri, Megan and Trey Coulter of Wellington, KS; step grandchildren: Josh and Kayla Gore of Lawrence, KS and Kenzi Adkisson of Atlanta, Georgia; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Tom passed away on September 10, 2010 at the Harper Hospital in Harper, Kansas. Those who preceded him in death include his parents; first wife, Maurine; daughter, Debbie Esslinger; grandson, Jared Adam Coulter; two brothers, Jimmy Terrell Coulter and James Craig Coulter; and three sisters: Patsy Martin, Linda Sweezy and Betty Hollowell.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hazelton, Kansas with Pastor Teddy Cook officiating. Memorials in memory of Tom may be given to the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
