Delpha Butler

ELM MOTT- Delpha "Dee Dee" Butler, 79, of Elm Mott, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010. Services were held Saturday, April 10, 2010, at First Church of the Nazarene in Whitney, with Rev. Greg Johnson officiating. Interment followed at Moore Cemetery in Chalk Bluff.

Delpha was born Jan. 3, 1931, in Oklahoma City, OK, the daughter of the late Preston Harold and Violet Leone (Thomas) Glover. She grew up in Texas City, and moved to Whitney as a young woman. She was in the

pest control business for a number of years. After marriage to Bill Butler on Aug. 6, 1989, she lived in Lampasas until moving to Elm Mott in 2005. She was an accomplished artist and loved to paint and work in her garden especially with flowers. She was of the Nazarene faith and a life member of Whitney VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

She was also preceded in death by brothers Preston Lynn and Melvin Doyle Glover.

Survivors include husband Bill of Elm Mott; children Cindy Hipps and husband John of Valley Mills, Keith Crawford and wife Debbie of Bedford, and Larry Crawford and wife Teresa of Whitney; stepchildren Waldemar Rott and wife Bridgette of Copperas Cove, Jennifer Zobel of Killeen, Michael Joseph Butler of Gates-ville, and William A. Butler and wife Elizabeth of Copperas Cove; grandchildren Shawn and Tiffany Grantham; eight step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
