CLIFTON - Michelle Reeves pleaded guilty to six counts of forgery totaling almost $1, 500, according to Bosque County District Attorney B.J. Shepherd. Reeves was the former city judge clerk for Clifton.

The 44-year-old Reeves was fired by the city in March when money orders used to pay fines between October 2009 through March 2010 were allegedly redirected by Reeves to make personal car payments with an auto dealer in Temple.

According to Mayor Fred Volcansek, Reeves would mark the fines paid by jail time rather than by money order.

A plea bargain was offered Reeves, according to Shepherd, which includes 90 days in State Jail, four years probation, a fine of $750, and $1, 472 in restitution.

Reeves is expected to be formally sentenced on Tuesday, Oct. 12, by 66th Judicial District Judge James Morgan in Meridian. Judge Morgan is not bound

to accept the conditions of the plea bargain and could rec-ommend changes.
