Alwyn Biberdorf

Funeral services for Alwyn Biberdorf, age 82, of Bottineau, were held on Thursday, April 22, 2010, at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bottineau.

Officiating at the service was the Reverend James Judson and Reverend Phillip Hanneman. Debi Hartvikson was the organist and Reverend Phillip Hanneman was the soloist.

Casket bearers were Scott Biberdorf, Vonn Biberdorf, Shelby Parrill, Daryl Foster, Jeff Boettcher and Bill Biberdorf. Honorary casket bearers were Jim and Hannah Lehman, George and Pat Sattler, Ernie and Verdine Jelleberg, Don and Ida Syvertson, Glen and Grace Matthews and Charles and Helen Kippen.

Burial was at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau.

Alwyn was born April 18, 1928, to Adlai and Freda (Merrick) Foster of Omemee. She was raised there with her family on the family farm at Omemee. She attended school at Omemee graduating in 1946. She attended Minot State Teacher's College and when school administrators needed a teacher she took on the challenge and taught school in Great Falls, Montana, Langdon, Overly, Gardena and Willow City. She married Marvin Biberdorf on February 17 1952 in Willow City. They farmed and raised their family in the Omemee area until moving to Bottineau in 1990.

She was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Willow City and its LWML until its closing in 2009 then transferred to Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bottineau.

Marvin and Alwyn traveled to Europe and several places within the United States and wintered in Arizona for 20 years. She was an active member of the Braille Center, Orphan Grain Train, Retired Teacher's Association and many other organizations.

In addition to her husband of 58 years, Marvin, she is survived by her children; Lynda (Doug) Borgen, Plover, Wisconsin, and their children, Erin (Jeremy) Wilson, Michaela (Josh) Stendahl, and Stuart Borgen; David (Veronica Heilman), Willow City, and their children, Mandy (Pete) Fiske, Scott Biberdorf and Vonn Biberdorf; Kathy (Myron) Parrill, Bottineau and their children, Krystle Parrill and Shelby Parrill; great-grand children, Olivia and Reid Wilson, Kiera Biberdorf, Brock Stendahl and Baby Fiske; brother, Vincent Foster of California; sister, Irma Jane (David) Radliff of Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends that they have met throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Marilyn Albert-son; and brothers Dale and Larrett Foster.

In lieu of flowers the requests that memorials be given to the St. Andrew's Hospital in Bottineau.
