Potter wins football contest

Charles Potter of LeRoy won $20 in LeRoy Bucks for correctly picking 11 of 15 games in the LeRoy Independent Football

Contest for the Sept. 9 issue.

The four games Potter missed were: Spring Grove over Lanesboro, Houston over Mabel-Canton, South Dakota over Minnesota and Seattle over San Francisco. Game No. 11 between Indiana and Western Kentucky was not included because that game is scheduled for Sept. 18.

Bubba of LeRoy and Devon Krueger of Canton tied for second place as they each picked 10 games correctly and were each one point off in the tie-breaker. Bubba and Krueger will each receive two Watts Theater tickets for tying for second.

The games Bubba missed included: Spring Grove over Lanesboro, Houston over Mabel-Canton, Fillmore Central over Rushford-Peterson, South Dakota over Minnesota and Michigan over Notre Dame.

The games Krueger missed included: Glenville-Emmons over Lyle-Pacelli, South Dakota over Minnesota, Michigan over Notre Dame, New England over Cincinnati and Seattle over San Francisco.

Steve Klostermann of LeRoy and Randy Weber each picked 10 games correctly but were not as close in the tie-breaker as Bubba or Krueger.

To play the LeRoy Independent Football

Contest, pick the team you think will win in each game listed in the advertisements. Write the team's name in the blank with the corresponding number. Cut out the entry blank and enter at the LeRoy Independent, 135 East Main, LeRoy, MN, 55951. Enter in person or by mail, postmarked no later than 5 p.m. Friday.

You must enter a score into the tie-breaker game or you will be disqualified. The winner will be awarded $20 in LeRoy Bucks for correctly predicting the most winners from the games listed. The second place prize is two Watts Theater tickets.

An additional four Watts Theater tickets will be awarded if the winner correctly predicts the outcome of all 15 games. Ties will be broken by the score of the tie-breaker game. In the the event there is still a tie, the prize will be divided equally. The contest is open to anyone age 15 and above. One entry per person. Facsimilies are accepted at 507-324-5267.
