CopyKaren Rohr, -65, of Sioux Falls, S.D., died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at Sanford Hospice Cottage.
Services were Friday, Aug. 28, at First Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, with interment in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Alvord.
Karen Rohr was born Feb. 6, 1944, in Sioux Falls, the daughter of William and Francine (Nagel) Rohr. She grew up in Alvord and graduated from Sioux Valley
School of Nursing in 1965. She was employed with Sioux Valley/Sanford Health 45 years. She assisted in the delivery of over 15,000 newborns during her career.
She was a March of Dimes Nurse of the Year, founder and instructor for a New Grandparents class, a past recipient of the Florence Nightingale Award, scholarship for excellence in obstetrics and gynecology, Wisdom Keeper award and Excellence in Obstetrics and Gynecology Employee of the Year. She was a charter member of Association of Women's Health Obstetrics and Neonatal Nursing.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
