Jerry Power, 1940 - 2010

Jerry Power, 69, of Shelbina, passed away Monday, Sept. 6, at approximately 8:27 p.m. at the Samaritan Hospital, in Macon.

He was born Sept. 8, 1940, in Paris, the son of Archie C. and Nellie Murphy Power. On Sept. 10, 1966 he was united in marriage to Kay Bich-sel at St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Shelbina.

Jerry is survived by his wife; two brothers: Paul Power, of Shelbina, and Mike (Sylvia) Power, of LaBelle, Fla.; two sisters: Mary Power, of Macon, and Barbara (Don) Robertson, of Shelbina; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister: Johanna Lo-renson.

Jerry was a Catholic by faith and served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing pitch and visiting with his family and friends.

Visitation was Wednesday, Sept. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home, in Shelbina. Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Reverend Donnie Munford. Burial was in St. Andrews Cemetery, in Stoutsville.
