Richard Johnston, 1977 - 2010

Richard (Richie) Johnston, 33, of Madison, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning, Sept. 11, as the result of an automobile accident.

Mr. Johnston was born on Jan. 2, 1977, in Macon, the son of Floyd and Ruth Baker Johnston. He graduated from Madison High School in 1966.

Richie and Joanie were the parents of two children, who survive him: Shelby Johnston, of Moberly, and Dylan Johnston, of Madison; a special friend: Tasha Hammersmidt, of Moberly; five brothers: Walter, David and Larry Johnston, all of Madison, Danny Weisner, of Moberly, and Hopper Weisner, of Madison; four sisters: Faye Sharp, of Holliday, Donna Coberly, of Madison, Okley Burk-holder, of Madison, and Julie Weisner, of Madison; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

He was employed by OCCI Construction Company, in Fulton.

Visitation was Monday, Sept. 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Madison Community Center. Funeral services were held on Monday at 1 p.m. at the Community Center, with Reverend David Holmes officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, in Madison.

Memorials may be made to the Johnston Children's Fund at the Alliant Bank, in Madison.

Agnew Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
