John Henry Ruffin

John Henry Ruffin died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010. A memorial service was held Sept. 11 at Monroe County Memorial Chapel, with Dr. Benny Tate officiating.

Mr. Ruffin, the son of the late Robert Lewis Ruffin and Joyce Marshall Ruffin, was born Dec. 14, 1946, in Forsyth. His brothers, Tommy Ruffin and Steve Melton, preceded him in death. He was previously employed with William Carter Company as a computer programmer. Mr. Ruffin was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during Vietnam.

Survivors include his children, Melanie (Jason) Standard of Jackson and Holly (Kevin) Smith of Jenkinsburg; brothers, Jerry (Betty) Ruffin of Wetumpka, Ala.,

Vic (Donna) Ruffin of Culloden, Eddie (Cheryl) Ruffin of Barnesville; and three grandchildren.
