The Pinnacle Women's Club recently donated $2,000 to the Family Peace Project. The funds are generated from their annual garage sale and the beneficiaries of these monies are local area charitable organizations.

The Family Peace Project provides a safe haven to women and children who are victims of domestic violence. Marlena Taylor, Executive Director of this worthwhile organization has witnessed first hand the joy as these victims finally realize they are out of harm's way.

She related a story of a young woman with two children who now says, "I feel totally safe for the first time in my life...I feel like an adult, like I matter. I like who 1 am and am grateful for the chance to grow into a capable and confident woman who doesn't need assistance any longer."

"It gives us great pleasure to assist in the transformation from a battered woman to a responsible member of the community and to applaud the efforts of the Fam-ily Peace Project in affecting so many lives in such a positive way." said Women's Club Vice President Marlene Ungarean.
