Arthur Radford

Mountain Messenger of Lewisburg, West Virginia

Caldwell - Arthur Radford, 68, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea.

Born Feb. 9, 1941, in Monroe County, he was the son of the late Alvie Emmett and Naomi Pyne Radford.

He worked most of his life as an automobile mechanic in Covington, VA, and later as a security guard.

Survivors include: his wife, Loretta Masters Radford of Caldwell; daughters, Gay-la Allen and husband David of Union, Terry Scarberry of Richwood, Vickie Ferguson and husband Chester of Gap Mills and Diane Radford of Ronceverte; step-daughters, Rita Gail Fry of Caldwell, Terry Sears of Fairlea and Sheila Chavis and husband Ray of South Carolina; step-son, Scot Bennett of Caldwell; sisters, Gladys Made Shacklock of Virginia Beach, VA, Barbara Mae Boyce and Brenda Sue Elmore of Union; brothers, Emmett Ray Radford of Hahira, GA, Dewey Hampton Radford and Wayne Kevin Radford of Union; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces aud nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Morgan Funeral Home in Lewisburg where Rev. Kenny Baker, Rev. Jimmy Rogers and Ray Keene officiated.

Burial was in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg.

Visitation was held Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
