CASA of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit, which serves Greenbrier and Pocahontas Counties, has been awarded certification by the National Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Association. This certification recognizes that the local program is in compliance with National CA-SA's high standards for quality child advocacy.

According to Michael Pi-raino, CEO of the National CASA Association, "The National CASA quality assurance process is very rigorous, and reflects our commitment to ensure every child we serve has the most powerful volunteer advocate working on their behalf. This certification says CASA of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit has demonstrated to us a strong capacity to provide excellent services to abused

and neglected children within their community."

Reviewers from the National CASA Association noted that the local program is superior in its compliance with national standards. CASA of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit began assigning volunteers to child abuse and neglect cases in October 2004. Since that date, the program has served 161 children with 28 volunteers. The program still needs volunteers to help advocate for abused and neglected children in both Greenbrier and Pocahontas Counties If you would like to make a difference for a child in foster care, give them a voice in court and have less than six hours a week to give, then please contact Jenny or Laura at 304-645-5437 or casallc@live.com.
