In Dakota country, the cowboy way of life is alive and flourishing. And there's no better evidence of that than at the Dodge Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo in Minot, North Dakota.

Held October 8-11, the Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo is pro rodeo's regional championship for North and South Dakota, and the best twelve cowboys in each rodeo event will compete for $110,000 and the title of 2009 Badlands Champion.

For fans, it's a mother lode of western and rodeo activities. The weekend is highlighted by four rodeo performances with the best cowboys and cowgirls in the region. A western themed gift show and exhibition will take place, along with a rodeo for special kids, awards ceremonies after each rodeo performance, a barrel race, and a ranch rodeo.

For cowboy and cowgirl contestants, the Circuit Finals Rodeo is their dream competition. With large amounts of money to be won and great cowboy hospitality, the Circuit Finals Rodeo is a favorite place for cowboys to compete.

"It's just a high class rodeo," said J.B. Lord, a steer wrestler from Piedmont, SD. Lord has competed at the Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo for the past two decades, and he likes the rodeo in Minot. "They treat the cowboys really well, and they put on a good show."

Lord will compete at this year's Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo in the steer wrestling.

Tom Richter, the President of the Badlands Circuit and the manager of the Swiftel Center in Brookings, SD, says that for fans, the Minot rodeo offers great competition. "Fans will see an awful lot of top quality rodeo." Richter says the Badland Circuit, made up of the pro rodeos in North and South Dakota, features some of the best cowboys in the nation. "We have some very good rodeo athletes that are from this area. One of the strongest events we have is the saddle bronc riding, and there will be people there (in Minot) who have been to the National Finals Rodeo (pro rodeo's world championship) and there will be young guys just starting who ride just as good as the guys who have been to the NFR."

Sponsors of the Dodge Badlands Circuit Finals Rodeo include Touchstone Energy and 4 Bears Casino.

Tickets for the event can be purchased online at www.MinotYsMensRodeo.com or by calling 701-582-5577. More information can be found online.
