Ellie Jeeah Carlisle, 20 month old daughter of Emily and Chance Carlisle died Friday, June 18, at Columbus Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service for Ellie will be held Tuesday, June 22, at Bethesda Baptist Church in Ellerslie. Rev. David Helms and Rev. Sydney Odom will officiate the service.

Ellie Carlisle, who was born Oct. 9, 2008 in Seoul, South Korea, is survived by her parents Chance and Emily Carlisle of Hamilton, and five brothers: Trey, Chandler, Tucker, Cason and Jeremy. Maternal grandparents: Pam and Jody Akin of Hamilton; Great grandparents: Rev. Sydney Odom of Centerville, Winnie Akin Taylor of Carrollton. Paternal grandparents: Tommy and Kathy Carlisle of Pine Mountain; Great grandparents: Don and Ruth Dove of Columbus. Aunts and uncles: Chase and Jocie Carlisle (Lausyn and Tripp); Glenn and Beth Akin and Alan Akin.

Ellie was a very special little girl who stole the hearts of everyone she met. She had a special love for people and greeted everyone with a smile and open arms. When God led our family to bring one of his children into our home, we proclaimed Jeremiah 29:11 for her. "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." God's perfect plan is complete; she is now in heaven with the infinite hope and future. She is dancing with angels and being held in the arms of Jesus. Our hearts hurt with grief and loss. However, Jesus is holding us in his arms with his nail scarred hands. We feel blessed that God choose our family to share the time we had with her. Praise God, because we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior, we have the assurance we will see Ellie again.

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in Spirit. A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him." Psalm 34:6

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to help other orphans find forever families. A trust fund has been set up at First Peoples Bank, Pine Mtn. GA and Bethesda Baptist, Ellerslie, GA.

Cox Funeral Home in Hamilton will be in charge of arrangements. Please sign the online register at www.coxfh.com.
