Village Board Approves Rental Fees For Fletcher Park Facilities

The Village Board met last Monday night for a regular meeting. On the agenda was an ordinance regarding use of property and prohibiting activities in the Finley Creek Conservation Area.

The first section of the ordinance was amended to use of property and prohibiting activities in parks and conservation areas. In section two the hours were amended to read that the parks are open to the public from sunrise to sunset and no person is permitted in those areas duruig other hours.

The reservation permit section added prices for rental of Fletcher Park facilities. The recreation center which has a 100 seating capacity will be able to be rented by Village residents for $400 all day Friday through Sunday and

$300 all day, $50 per hour for Monday through Thursday. Non-residents will be able to rent it for $500 all day Friday through Sunday and $400 all day or $75 per hour Monday through Thursday.

Fletcher Park pavilion, which has a 200 seating capacity, will be able to be rented by Village residents for $250 all day, Friday through Sunday or $75 all day, $25 per hour Monday through Thursday. Non-residents will be able to rent the facility for $300 all day Friday through Sunday and $100 all day, $35 per hour Monday through Thursday.

The amphitheater also will be available for residents and non-residents to reserve. Village residents will be able to rent the facility for $300 all day, Friday through Sunday and $200 all day, $25 per hour Monday through Thursday.

Non-resident rates are $350 all day Friday through Sunday and $250 all day, $35 per hour Monday through Thursday.

Funding for the two smaller pavilions has been received and construction on those could begin at any time. They will be named the Lewis Pavilion, which will be located near the playground and the Stocks Pavilion, which will be located near the tennis courts.

Rates for residents on renting a small pavilion will be $25 all day and nonresidents $35 all day. The staff is currently working on the agreements and contracts that need to accompany the fees and they will be advertised for rental when that is complete.

The ordinance was also altered to reflect a variety of prohibited activities in parks.

This section included prohibiting swimming in Fletcher Park lake and requiring a fishing license issued by the Illinois Department of National Resource to fish. This section also prohibited motorized vehicles on walking and bicycle trails, on village right of way and parks.

A regulation in this section also prohibits solicitation or vending with the exception to licensed concessionaires acting under the authority of the Village. Another part prohibits damage or defacement of structures and other materials in the parks.

The board passed the ordinance. The next meeting of the Village Board will be September 20 at 5:15 p.m.
