Shirley Maxine Loftin

Shirley Maxine Loftin, age 91, of Athens passed away June 30.

Funeral services were held Friday July 2 in the Chapel of Bridges Funeral Home with Dr. Hugh Morgan and Rev. J. Brian Williams officiating. Interment services were held at Meriwether Memory Gardens in Manchester.

A native of Tidioute, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Rachel Albaugh Copeland. She was a member of the Christian Life Worship Center in Athens. Mrs. Loftin worked for Bell Aircraft during World War II and later owned and operated a motel.

She was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy Loftin in 1997.

Survivors include a sister, Katherine Copeland of Pennsylvania, nephews, Jonathan Shaw of Atlanta, Drew Shaw of Pennsylvania and Mark Loftin of Manchester. A number of great nieces and great nephews also survive.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Christian Life Worship Center, 125 Kathwood Dr., Athens, Ga. 30607.

Bridges Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
