Richard Scofield

The New Era of Sweet Home, Oregon

Richard LeRoy Scofield, 81, of Junction City died Jan. 28, 2009.

He was born June 24, 1927 in Pine County, Minn, to Allen Emerson and Amaretta (Flowers) Scofield.

He served in Guam and the Philippines during World War II. He attendedtheUniversityof Minnesota, then transferred to Northwestern College in Minneapolis, Minn., graduating in 1951.

Mr. Scofield married Joan Trout in Minnesota. Together they raised six children. He worked as a mail carrier for the Post Office, eventually retiring in Sweet Home. He loved his garden of roses, fishing, traveling the globe and interacting with people.

Mr. Scofield is survived by his children: Keith Richard Scofield of Sweet Home, Kenneth Allan Scofield of Independence, David Jonathan Scofield of Tulsa, Okla., Meredith Elaine Allyn of Junction City, Douglas Adair Scofield of

Bandon and Stuart Arthur Scofield of Battle Ground, Wash.; two sisters, Ruth Truckenbrod and lone Erickson of Minnesota; 24 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bert, Donald and Lee.

At this time no services are planned. SweetHome Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
