A Perkins woman who was arrested for shoplifting in Stillwater was jailed on $5, 000 bail after a small amount of methamphet-amine was allegedly found in her bag by a detention officer at the Stillwater Police Department.

Bethany Dawn Wil-lyard, 33, who remains in custody at the Payne County Jail, was given a court-appointed attorney last week to represent her at an Oct. 4 court appearance.

Willyard could be given a 10-year prison term if convicted of possessing methamphetamine after previously being convicted of drug possession in the presence of a child in 2001 in Payne County, court records show.

She could be given a 30-day jail term if convicted of shoplifting merchandise at the Walmart on N. Perkins Road in Stillwater on Sept. 3, court records show.

At the Stillwater City Jail on Sept. 3, Detention Officer Melody Kruithof found a small baggie of methamphetamine in Willyard's bag, an affidavit by Stillwater Police Officer Daryle Gee alleged.

"The defendant stated it was in her bag, but did not belong to her. The defendant stated it was Shake-n-Bake methamphetamine, "Gee's affidavit alleged.
