On September 4, 2010, Anthony and Emily (Hearn) Maier heard a devastating diagnosis. Their four-year-old daughter Tillie Anne had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

Since September, Tillie Anne Maier has gone through multiple bouts of chemotherapy, a life threatening staph infection and two surgeries.

While the Maiers, who both graduated from Shelton High School, have good health insurance, they are

struggling to deal with the additional expenses of fighting their daughter's cancer.

Tillie Maier's prognosis is good, her family said, and is in remission, but continues to undergo treatment to ensure that the cancer doesn't come back.

Donations to the Maier family can be made to the Tillie Anne Maier Leukemia Fund at Key Bank.

Her progress can be seen on Face-book under the name Tornado Tille or at http://tornadotillie.blogspot.
