The Shelton Arts Commission was pleased to donate $1,709 to The Saint's Pantry Food Bank from donations made by participants at the sixth Annual Empty Bowls Project. Local restaurants including The Strip Steak House, Steven's on Railroad, Xinh's Clam and Oyster House, Route 66 Bar and Grill and Olympic Station Deli generously donated soup and bread for the event.

The Empty Bowls project is a creative effort to fight hunger. Participants created ceramic bowls, building one night and glazing two weeks later. When the bowls were

finished, participants gathered to choose a bowl to keep for exchange of a $10 donation. Participants then were treated to a delicious bowl of soup and bread served by one of the five participating restaurants. All proceeds went to the Saint's Pantry Food Bank.
